The begining of a new adventure

Hello and Welcome
After 5 years of marriage which included almost as many years of university, we the Findlaters from Australia have decided to go off to see the world. Our first port of call is London where we arrived 7:30am the 23rd of July 2014.

The flight here was in three parts, Brisbane to Singapore, Singapore to Abu Dhabi, and Abu Dhabi to London, for a grand total of 16,500 kilometers and over 30 hours of transit.

Singapore airport:
What used to be a large orchid garden with a running water feature impregnated with Koi fish has now been revamped into a modern garden of mosaic sculptures and fake flower arrangements. The Koi fish remain however there are fewer and in a smaller area. The garden is beautiful but does not compare to the real life flower display that previously existed.

Abu Dhabi airport:
Still as beautiful as I remembered it as a child. The airport itself is currently undergoing major changes and as a result there were significant delays in loading luggage and leaving the tarmac.

 HMS Belfast:
Commissioned in 1938 it served in the royal navy as a light cruiser.  It played a leading role in the Battle of North cape and the Normandy landings.
It arrived in London in 1971 and has been on display here since.

Me standing at the western end of Shad Thames. With a Starbucks on the corner and the historical Anchor brew house to my right, this old lane way runs parallel to the Thames river. The small walk bridges in the background are essentially balconies or small extensions to the adjoining apartments.

Well that is an introduction to the Findlater's travel adventures for now.
