Salmon Arm, Car Hire and Exciting Development

Hello and welcome to another one of our travel blogs.
As the title suggest in this past week we hired a car and went to check out the surrounding towns.

The image below is the route that we took, as you can see were we are is on silver star mountain an the local town to us is Vernon.

We hired the car in Vernon, it was pretty cheap at $65 for 1.5 days, it was suppose to be $55 per day and we had it for two days, but because we brought it back early they only charged us for one day.
Below are two photos of the car we hired (It's that dirty from only one day of driving around).

Salmon Arm is a city in the Shuswap Country of the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia that has a population of about 17,500.
It is on the shores of Shuswap Lake, where the Salmon River empties into the Salmon Arm reach of the Lake.
Salmon Arm is home to the longest wooden wharf in North America (see below)

Above you can see how much snow fall that we have had the snow is about 30-40cm deep on Kyran's legs.
In the back ground you can see where house boats moor in the summer months.

Below is just a handsome photo of Kyran that was taken by yours truly.

Why is Kyran so suited up I hear you ask?
Well that is the exciting news for this week.
While we were in Salmon Arm, Kyran and I met with a local entrepreneur who has his own engineering business and it looks like Salmon Arm is where we will be calling home some time in the near future.

The following are some other photos that were taken while we were in Salmon Arm, you might also note the giant frozen lake that is in all the photos.

While we were out and about in our hired car we thought that we might stop and check out a pet shop to see what crazy animals people are allowed to keep in this country.
We were mainly in search of an "arctic weasel" which is rumored to change its fur color based on the seasons -white in winter and brown in the summer months.
But instead here's a photo of a hamster with it puffy cheeks.

The following photos are of food to prove that we are not starving to death and in fact are eating quite well with our home made bread and bread rolls!

Last but not least while going through my photos to show you this week I found some photos that show the behind the scenes of how we capture all these amazing photos. So here is how the following photo was taken.

To take a good photo you need a good adviser and the right perspective, and here is me getting some.

" this is where you have to stand and then just focus there"
says Kyran while framing the shot

Well that is all from us for this week, here's a final photo from a hot tub in the snow.

Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.
