This weeks Blog is a little before and after the weekend starting off with some of the family I thought I should introduce.
The Family of Mice that I have adopted / share custody
They were originally set for a life to end in a snake's digestive tract, but as the snake was released back into the wild due to it being "too wild", we had the problem of what to do with it's food.
The family consists of a mother and her four sons, the mice actually belong to my cousin but had he doesn't share the same attachment with them as I do I have offered to share custody.
So the main focus of this weekend was not too exciting, it revolved around looking after my aunty's spoiled dog who needs walking three times a day. We were also lured there with the promise internet and TV, and an opportunity to stay in the city over night.
Above: A spoiled brat and a tiny dog :)
While were in the city we thought we would check out the sights and try out the sky rail/ cable car that passes over the house we were staying at.
So here are some photos from our Adventures
This is the view as we went over my aunty's house, notice the holes down the buildings, this is so every one has a window to hang their washing out of.
The view down the River Manzanares which I have spoke about in previous blogs, if you would like to know about the river here's a link.
As the sky rail heads into the Park 'Casa de Campo' we had an aerial view of the farming the council seems to be doing to contribute to their street planning.
And next is the view as we headed out of the city and the Attraction Park that was mentioned in a previous blog is visible.
Below: View from the other end of the sky rail at a lookout
We then decided to sit down and relax on some grass and see if we could spot a squirrel (please note that the only thing we saw to do with a squirrel is a jaw bone i accidentally sat on)
Below some of the local parrots that were grazing near by our 'life pondering' spot.
Our life-pondering squirrel-gazing session was rudely interrupted by a sudden heavy downpour of rain, so we ran back to the sky rail and headed back towards home.
On our way back home on the sky rail we spotted a rose garden and decided to go check it out.
I also found this tree peculiar as its seed pods looked like a snake I once had.
And a food that originates from the Canary Islands.
Apparently the way it goes is that they get sea water and add the small potatoes and then cook it until the water evaporates and the potatoes shrivel up.
Then you eat them with this sweet capsicum, oil and tomato type sauce, and let me just say it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!
Below another photo but this one is curtsey of Kyran
Well that's all from us for another week,
over and out
